Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh)

The Upper lake was built by late parmar king "Bhoj", One thousand years ago. This lake is one of the biggest lakes in central India. The Upper lake is divided from the Lower by an over bridge and is 6 Square Kilometers in area. At this lake, there are facilities for exciting trips by Sail, Paddle, and Motor Boats. It is said that once king "Bhoj" suffered from skin disease, at that time all Vaidya's (Ayurvedic Doctor's) failed to cure his disease. One day a saint told to king Bhoj to build a tank to combine 365 tributaries and than have a bath in it to wipe out the skin disease. As per saint's advise, king Bhoj called upon his engineers to build up a huge tank when this was measured, it was found that it has only 359 tributaries. Then they spotted a place near river Betwa for expanding this tank, which was 32 Kilometers away from Bhopal.
